A WHIMSICAL comedy grows from unlikely subject matter in the latest play from Skipton Little Theatre.

The amateur group will next week present Over My Dead Body which has been written by popular playwright Derek Benfield.

The play focuses on Gerald who, following his wife's recent death, strives to maintain his new-found freedom.

The trouble is, while happily hoping to spend the rest of his days alone with his tender memories, he is forced to fend off unexpected visitors.

Gerard has reckoned without his late wife's surprise "forward planning", which results in a series of unexpected events over which he feels he has little control.

Nevertheless, with the help of his daughter and son-in-law he is able to recall fond family memories which give him the keys to enjoyable events from the past that prove to be both funny and poignant.

The play centres around genuine independence versus deliberate intrusion.

Over My Dead Body runs from Tuesday to Saturday and for tickets email skipton.little.theatre@gmail.com or call 07527 141176.
