EBBW Vale have secured the return of an old favourite and added a fresh face as they attempt to build on a superb return to the Principality Premiership.
The Steelmen, who gave a tremendous account of themselves when beaten by Pontypridd at Sardis Road in the final last Sunday, have snapped up loosehead prop Ian George and wing Steffan Jones.
George, 32, spent two seasons at Eugene Cross Park and was a member of the formidable pack that finished second in the Premiership behind then standard bearers Neath under the stewardship of Alex Codling in 2007
Last season he was with Newbridge in the Swalec Championship while he also boasts spells at Newport, Cardiff, Bedwas and London Welsh on his CV while he made a pair of appearances for Newport Gwent Dragons.
He replaces Newport-bound John Lavender while Jones, who has played for Llanharan, Cardiff and Wales sevens, comes in for Rodney Parade-bound wing Wes Cunliffe.
The 22-year-old has been signed on the recommendation of former Bristol centre Rob Hignett, an old teammate of Ebbw head coach Jason Strange and rugby coach at Bristol University where Jones is studying psychology.
