NEWPORT Gwent Dragons will give first run outs of pre-season to a trio of seasoned campaigners in their friendly against the Scarlets at Rodney Parade tomorrow evening (kick-off 7pm).

Lock Rynard Landman, loosehead Boris Stankovich and new scrum-half Sarel Pretorius will all feature after sitting out last week’s 48-12 win against Nottingham in Ystrad Mynach while centre Jack Dixon will make his return after being released from Wales' World Cup training squad.

Openside Ollie Griffiths, full-back Geraint Rhys Jones, wing Matthew Pewtner and fly-half Dorian Jones are named in an extended squad after missing the 15-a-side clash with the East Midlanders the night before they won the Welsh leg of the Singha Premiership 7s at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.

The Dragons will be wearing their new kit in the encounter and it will be on sale from the club shop.

There will be a family fun day before the Scarlets friendly, starting at 5pm on the training pitch at Rodney Parade.

Youngsters can enjoy rugby skills camps, a Glamorgan Cricket fun zone, golf, tennis and bouncy castles along with post-match interviews with Dragons players and coaches.

The Friends of Newport Rugby beer festival is also taking place on Friday and Saturday with 27 ales and ciders.
