CHRIS Coleman has warned his Wales stars to guard against complacency as they embark on their Euro 2016 adventure.

Coleman yesterday named his squad for the finals in France as he prepares for Wales’ tournament opener against Slovakia on June 11.

But the national manager is concerned that his side have won only once in their last six games – against Andorra – and have lost two out of three friendlies since sealing qualification.

“Since we’ve qualified our results are nothing to shout about,” said Coleman.

“We went through a period where we were almost unbeatable – we had a great run of results, “But since we’ve qualified we’ve kind of tailed off a little bit.

“Sometimes with success there comes a little bit of complacency – subconsciously sometimes.

“We have Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey but even with those two in the team we need to be at our maximum in any game to get a good result and a performance.

“We’ve got to get it right when the pressure’s on in the tournament and all the eyes are on us.

“That’s what it’s all about – can we get it right in that 90 minutes.”

And Coleman says the players have to forget about the achievement of making a first major tournament since 1958.

“Everyone wants to talk about the campaign and it was a great achievement I’m extremely proud of it but it’s not going to help us win in France,” he said.

“It’s gone now and it about how we cope with the challenge in front of us now and how we cope with the attention that we’ve not had before because we’ve never been in this position.

“Can we stay focused and keep our minds on what has made us good in the first place or are we going to let all the intrusion rattle us a little bit?

“If we take our eye off the ball then we all know what happens.

“I’m not saying the players are all walking round with their chests pumped out but it is just human nature.

“We can’t live in the past. This is not the time to enjoy the moment.

“When it’s all done we can look back and pick the bones out of it but right now we’re going to do whatever we have to do to make sure this tournament is a prolonged one for us.”
