BEDWAS have cited Merthyr's Osian Davies for an alleged stamp after Newport Gwent Dragons flanker James Benjamin suffered a fractured leg.

The men from Bridge Field reviewed footage of the incident at a ruck in the closing stages of their stunning 37-19 success at the Wern and have left the matter in the hands of the Welsh Rugby Union.

Benjamin had been hoping to force his way back into the Dragons fold but now faces a short spell on the sidelines and his region have confirmed he will see a specialist.

"The injury is so unfortunate for James because his form had been excellent – he was hugely influential in us winning at Newport then beating Merthyr," said Bedwas head coach Steve Law.

Bedwas will put aside their disappointment at losing the services of Benjamin to concentrate on not slipping up against Neath, who were hammered 48-3 at Cross Keys last weekend.

"You can't take any team for granted in this league," said Law. "Ability is not part of the equation if you haven't got a matching attitude.

"It's about the top two inches and we will have to be on our game against Neath, who I expect to come back with a performance full of passion after being beaten heavily."

Bargoed are also looking to build on a tremendous win when they travel to an Aberavon side who are three from three.

Steve Barber's men beat Swansea 29-9 for their first Premiership triumph last weekend with tries from lock Bryce Morgan, centre Darren Humphries, number eight Ross Coombs and full-back Jordan Purcell turning four points into five.

The Bulls will hope to cause plenty of problems for a Wizards side who they stunned 17-15 when the sides met in the 2012 Swalec Cup.
