HALLAM Amos says Newport Gwent Dragons' past record means that Treviso will come out all guns blazing with the expectation of recording a first Guinness Pro12 win of the season.

The men from Rodney Parade have won just one of six fixtures in Treviso since the Italians joined the league in 2010/11.

Last season the Dragons were edged out 19-17 in the rain at the Stadio Monigo after Angus O'Brien's last-gasp drop goal hit both posts before Wales wing Amos was bundled into touch in the corner.

Treviso have shown spirit in defeat to both Leinster in Dublin and in their home encounter against Ulster but are fresh from a 64-10 drubbing at the Ospreys.

But Amos, who captains the Dragons for the first time tomorrow evening, says that their hosts' Swansea showing is an irrelevance.

"It's a factor that because of where we are in the league and where we have been in the table over the past few years that they view games against us as really winnable fixtures," said the 21-year-old.

"That means they will come at us all guns blazing and it's always tough out in Italy. We've had some good games out there – we got us first bonus point win there two years ago – and some bad. Last season was horrible conditions and we could have and maybe should have won.

"I am sure it will be another close game and it's about respecting the opposition because it will be a different side to the one that played the Ospreys last week.

"We have been looking more at their Ulster game when they challenged them and it was a lot closer, because that is what it will be like for us. It will be tough going but we are going there with eyes on victory."

Amos starts on the left wing while Ashton Hewitt, Argus Dragon of the Year after a breakthrough season in 2015/16, makes his first appearance of the season following a shoulder injury.

Kingsley Jones has rolled the dice by making six other changes to the XV that was edged out by Munster with captain Lewis Evans and influential overseas players Brok Harris, Nick Crosswell and Sarel Pretorius sitting it out.

Starts are handed to centre Adam Warren, scrum-half Charlie Davies, tighthead Lloyd Fairbrother, lock Cory Hill and flankers James Thomas and Nic Cudd.

Back row forward Harri Keddie, scrum-half Luc Jones and full-back/fly-half Geraint Jones could make their first appearances of the season off the bench.
