South Wales Women’s & Girls League
Division Two (Development)
MIKAELA Roberts scored her second hat-trick in two games but still finished on the losing side on Sunday, writes Bob Cypher.
Playing for Caldicot Town Ladies FC against Coed Duon, Mikaela put the Development Squad ahead and increased the advantage before half-time.
The home side fought back after the break but Mikaela completed her treble and team captain Nat Rostron made it 4-2 with a great free-kick and the points seemed to be in the bag.
But again the home side rallied, scoring three goals to take the victory and disappoint manager Gareth Crispin.
“It’s a disappointing result for the girls as I felt we deserved more out of the game,” he said later,
“We were good in spells but let ourselves down in key moments and paid the price.”
