Rugby round up:

Whitland have been promoted back to Division One West at the first time of asking after a 34-10 win in Pontarddulais tonight.

Gareth Bennett and Dan Mason's side trailed early on but a try from hooker and skipper Marc Jones levelled matters at 5-5, before full back Jonny Thomas also crossed at No 10 Nico Setaro converted.

Early in the second half it was Jones who put his side in control with two more tries for his hat trick, with Setaro converting one of them to make it 24-5.

The Bont grabbed their second try but winger Scott Lloyd and Setaro himself sealed the win and promotion with unconverted scores late on.

Now it is all about the title for The Borderers, who are level on points with Yr Hendy - but Whitland have four games left and their rivals three.

And the pair are set to meet on May 8th in what is now a huge clash.

In Division Three West A, Milford Haven moved back top of the table with a 38-17 win over Llangwm.

Scrum half Dan McClelland crossed twice, with further tries for Dai Sweeny, Lee Riley, Jack Clancy and Zac Davies. McClelland added four conversions.

But The Wasps fought hard as Josh Hicks, Gethin Thomas, and John O'Boyle all crossed, with Luke Hayman converting one try.

The win takes Milford three points ahead of Pembroke, but having played three more games.

Elsewhere, Laugharne won 22-10 in Haverfordwest to go third in the table.

Tom Jameson starred for the Cocklemen with two tries, two conversions, and a penalty, with Ross Michael also getting a try.
