DRAGONS and Newport icon Jason Forster has joined the coaching staff at Hartridge RFC as the club prepare for Division One East.

The 47-year-old former flanker, who won a Wales cap against Argentina in 2004, had recently been coaching Lydney.

Hard-hitting Forster is a Rodney Parade legend after making 109 appearances for the Black and Ambers between 1999 and 2003 before going on to play 73 times for the Dragons.

He also played for Wales A, Wales Sevens at two World Cups and the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester plus the Barbarians.

The back row forward cut his coaching teeth while still playing and captaining Doncaster Knights under former Wales coach Clive Griffiths and counts Henley and Chippenham on his management CV.

Hartridge have won five titles in a row and lifted the Division Two East trophy after winning 19 of 22 games.
