CHEPSTOW boxer Pat Mullane is preparing to fly the Welsh flag at the Junior Nations Cup in Serbia, writes Bob Cypher.

Mullane was yesterday due to travel as part of the Wales team for the event due to take place between August 15th and 19th.

Chepstow BC’s head coach Steve Woods said the tournament is the icing on the cake for Mullane.

“Pat has won five Welsh titles, one British bronze and one British gold and has won the Welsh title every year he has entered it,” he said.

“This is a massive tournament with 21 countries entered, including USA, Russia, and India, so it’s a great achievement for any boxer to be chosen to represent Wales and obviously it would be an even greater achievement to be in the medals.”
