SEVERN Tunnel LFC tamed the Ponty Panthers in the South Wales Women & Girls League on Sunday, scoring 10 goals without reply.

There were hat-tricks for Taylor Fitzgerald and Mikaela Roberts with the others added by Shauna Pentney, Beth Gammon, Taran Fitzgerald and an own goal.

Skipper Nat Rostron said things worked on in training were part of the reason for the dominant performance.

“We worked really well as a team, passing in triangles, and it was good to see and play in,” she said later.

Meanwhile, in the Welsh Women’s League, Caldicot Town won 3-2 at Willows Ladies, but it took something special to get the points.

“We were 2-0 up at half time thanks to goals by Kelly Cutler and Chelsea Cochrane,” Town manager Luke Harris said.

“But two errors gave Willows the chance to level it until Chelsea hit a superb free kick into the top corner three minutes from time to give us the points.

“We were winning comfortably at 2-0 and the three points is a positive result.”
