LEADERS Sudbrook CC suffered a surprise reverse as bottom club Thornwell Red & White B beat them 2-1, writes Bob Cypher.
After former first team regulars Kenny Vidler and Matt Divers scored the goals, B team boss Keith Tipper said his players performed well to take the three points in only their second win of the season.
“It was a hard-fought game but I think we just had enough to hold out for the win,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chepstow Town were unable to take the chance to return to pole position after their home game against Raglan was postponed due to the weather.
Elsewhere, Caldicot Castle B won at home against Chepstow Athletic thanks to goals from James Lopategui (2), Connor Bryant, James Reid, Jack Clayton and Mike Levett.
Portskewett & Sudbrook scored twice through Adam Maggs and Nathan Edinborough but visitors Monmouth Town claimed the points in a 5-2 victory thanks to goals from Sam Williams, Matt Jones, Jacob Perrella, Fin Thorp and James Greany.
