Monmouthshire Windows East Gwent League
Divisions 1 and 2
ONLY two East Gwent games went ahead due to the stormy weather before and during the weekend, writes Bob Cypher.
Rockfield Rovers beat Undy Athletic 2-1 and Thornwell Red & White B also recorded a 2-1 victory against visitors Monmouth Town.
Thornwell boss Keith Tipper was delighted his team were able to keep their current good form going.
βIt was a hard-fought game and a draw would have been a fair result, but after we went 1-0 down, we fought back through goals from Jack Stewart and Josh Walker,β he said later
"Our first team's Amateur Cup match at Aberbargoed was called off as they arrived at the pitch.
"I used Andrew Skuse as my centre back after he dropped out at the last minute but he was the only first team player in our team and I think we deserved the win in awful weather."
