PONTYPOOL will toast their 150th anniversary at a gala dinner with some of their greats – including the legendary front row.

The famous trio of Charlie Faulkner, Bobby Windsor and Graham Price will be reunited and they will be joined at the event by fellow icons David Bishop, Eddie Butler, Terry Cobner, John Perkins and Jeff Squire.

Former Wales and Pooler hooker Nigel Meek will be master of ceremonies and host a Q&A with the club greats at the Parkway Hotel and Spa in Cwmbran on Thursday, February 21.

"This is sure to be an excellent evening as the club continues to do such a good job of celebrating its history in its 150th year,” said Pooler president Price, who made a club record 567 appearances and played tighthead for Wales, the Barbarians and the Lions.

"I think it's fair to say that Pontypool RFC has produced some of the finest players the game of rugby has ever seen and it's important that we celebrate their achievements and much more besides.

"The club is now in a really positive place and the current set-up is one of the best I've seen during my near 50-year association with Pontypool RFC.

“It's reassuring to think that we can celebrate our club and all of its past achievements, but also look to the future with genuine excitement.

“I look forward to coming together with some of the people who have, in some way, contributed to the club and I hope to share the evening with our fantastic supporters.”

Tickets for the three-course meal cost £45 and there are three VIP tables available at £650 each.
