Chepstow 36 Whitehead 13
CHEPSTOW RFC ended the year with a memorable victory over leaders Whitehead at the Upton Memorial Ground on Saturday, writes Bob Cypher.
The defeat saw Whitehead replaced at the top by Aberbargoed who won 15-8 at New Tredegar.
Chepstow beat Whitehead by six tries to one and closed the gap to a point with a game in hand, although they are three points behind Aberbargoed who have played one game less than Chepstow.
Three tries from Andrew Morris and one apiece by Tom Bradley, Nick Davis and Josh Adams were enough to defeat the high-flying Newport side.
Elliot Cracknell weighed in with three conversions.
Chepstow visit lowly Hafodyrynys this Saturday poised to put pressure on the leaders.
