AFTER being victims of Ceri Jones' death stare, the Dragons squad attempt to respond to their nightmare in Treviso by finishing with a flourish at Rodney Parade this weekend.

The region play their final Newport fixture of the season tomorrow afternoon when they entertain Guinness PRO14 play-off hopefuls Ulster (kick-off 3pm).

The Dragons – who have given up home advantage for the Judgement Day encounter with the Scarlets on April 27 – head into the game on the back of a 57-7 humiliation at the hands of Benetton.

They shipped nine tries at the Stadio Monigo and their woeful display led to a first serious dressing down from caretaker head coach Jones.

"I don't suppose I am a rollocking man, more of a menacing stare man!" joked the former Wales prop after a brutal debrief on Tuesday.

Jones and his management team have wielded the axe after the horror show, which featured 41 missed tackles and just 14 carries.

Fly-half Josh Lewis is one of nine changes to the XV and hopes that the Dragons can respond with a performance more like their battling display against title-chasing Munster last time they were on home soil.

"It was a tough weekend and we had to come in and deal with the consequences, it's how we bounce back now," said Lewis.

"We've got to draw a line under it and that wasn't us last weekend. Last time that we played at home it was a really good team performance and we are back for our last game of the season at Rodney Parade.

"Not only do we owe ourselves something but our fans as well. We don't want to finish on a downer and have to put a big shift in.

"It wasn't good enough last week. We had some really good performances over Christmas and we do know that the quality is is there, it was just a bad day at the office.

"We can't put our fingers on why but hopefully we have a good weekend coming against Ulster, who are a top side."

Ulster are third in the extremely tight Conference B, two points back on Benetton, two ahead of Edinburgh with the Scarlets a further point back.

The Dragons haven't beaten the Irish province in the seven games since a 26-22 triumph in Newport in March 2015.

Ulster won 36-18 when the teams met in Belfast in October, although the spoils were shared in a 32-32 thriller in last season's corresponding fixture.
