LOOSEHEAD prop Rhys Fawcett has returned to the Scarlets after covering injuries at the Dragons on a short-term loan.

The 22-year-old headed to the Rodney Parade region in January and made a pair of appearances in the Guinness PRO14 losses to Edinburgh and Benetton.

Fawcett was signed because of injuries to former Wales prop Ryan Bevington (concussion) and promising prospect Josh Reynolds (hamstring).

He backed up stalwart Brok Harris at Murrayfield and in Treviso but Reynolds returned for last weekend’s loss against Ulster in Newport and it is hoped that Bevington will return against the Ospreys at the end of the month.

The 30-year-old has not played since suffering a blow to the head against his former Liberty Stadium teammates in the rousing derby win at Rodney Parade at the end of December.

Former Wales prop Aaron Jarvis is out for the rest of the season but tighthead Leon Brown made a welcome return from a broken thumb against the Ulstermen.

Gerard Ellis, the number eight turned hooker turned loosehead, was allowed to leave the Dragons to join Coventry last month.
