RODNEY Parade in Newport will be the home of Wales women’s football in the upcoming UEFA Women’s Euro 2021 qualification campaign for the first three home games.

Jayne Ludlow’s side will host Northern Ireland in Newport on September 3, five days after the side’s opening match away to the Faroe Islands.

And Wales will return to the home of Newport County AFC, the Dragons and Newport RFC in April 2020 when they welcome the Faroe Islands on April 10 and Norway on April 14 in a key home double header.

Tickets will be going on sale for the Northern Ireland match next Wednesday at midday on the FAW website.

Rodney Parade has been a record breaker for the Wales team over the last 12 months.

Last August saw the largest crowd for a women’s international in Wales as more than 5,000 people attended the World Cup qualifying match against England.

And the record for most attended friendly was broken in April as 2,100 fans attended the side’s goalless draw against the Czech Republic.

“For us as a national team it’s important that we have the right level of facility at the right time,” said Ludlow.

“Right now Rodney Parade is perfect for where we’re at as a nation.

“The atmosphere there for both the England and Czech Republic matches was phenomenal and we hope that will continue into the next campaign.”
