PILL Harriers prop Carl Sully, whose exploits have earned the nickname of ‘The Beast’, has earned a move to Ebbw Vale, writes Chris Kirwan.

The 25-year-old will swap Division Two East for the Principality Premiership after being signed by the Steelmen.

Sully, who is primarily a tighthead but can also play loosehead, was named on the Ebbw bench for their clash with Swansea last season on permit and has made the move permanent.

He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the coaches and supporters of Pill Harriers for everything they have done for me over the years and got me to where I am today.

“I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to play for a great team like Ebbw Vale in the Premiership.

“I do feel nervous but with hard work and dedication I will show the people of Ebbw Vale the real Beast!”

Sully joins a strong Ebbw propping contingent with stalwarts Ross Jones and Rob Sevenoaks set for their tenth campaigns at Eugene Cross Park while former Dragon Luke Garrett, Joel Harries and Morgan Davies have committed to the club.

Greg Woods’ side have also signed lock/back row Dan Hill and wingers Kane Teear-Bourge and Dafydd Thomas.
