THE criticism of Abergavenny race organiser Bill Owen is not only unjustified but pales into insignificance compared to his supporters, according to a fellow Festival official.
Outbursts - some too colourful to print - against Owen have appeared on internet message boards since the Cycling Festival axed the second, third and fourth category race at the last minute.
A spokesman for the Abergavenny International Festival of Cycling said, however: "The amount of people who were disappointed with the event and used bad language on these internet forums towards the event were outnumbered by the amount of people who were actually backing it and said they had a wonderful time.
"Plenty of people have said you shouldn't make these accusations against Bill Owen and the rest of the organisers'. There were more people backing it than slagging it off."
