Mathern veterans fight back to triumph

MATHERN Vagabonds beat their hosts Rank Outsiders 3-1 thanks to two goals by Alan Seddon and one from Perry Forster.
The Vagabonds, Mathern’s veterans side, lost their keeper hours before the match and in the absence of a replacement, player-manager Jim Edwards pulled on the green jersey.
Forster opened the scoring but the Outsiders levelled before the break.
With the home side in control, Mathern scored twice against the run of play through Seddon, the second coming five minutes from the end, effectively sealing a tightly-contested game.
Mathern face a tough test at home against Merthyr Tydfil in a Welsh League match on Sunday.
