GOAL hero Hal Robson-Kanu believes Wales can beat Portugal and reach the Euro 2016 final because Gareth Bale is better than Cristiano Ronaldo – and Lionel Messi.

Robson-Kanu scored a goal all three would have been proud of to put Wales 2-1 up and on the way to a 3-1 quarter-final win over Belgium in Lille on Friday night.

And he’s certain that Bale can inspire the side to go one step further when they take on Portugal in the last four in Lyon on Wednesday.

“It’s obviously a fantastic night for everyone involved,” said the striker.

“It’s something that we’ve been working towards for many years now and it’s fantastic to have achieved something like this.

“It’s testament to the group of players that we have here, to the management staff and to everyone involved. Long may it continue.

“I think if we play our game going into it we’ll be confident that we can get a positive result against Portugal.

“It will be a competitive game but one that we’ll be full of belief in.”

Asked about Bale and Ronaldo (and Messi), Robson-Kanu said: “They are both world class players but we have a world class player who is better.”

On Bale v Ronaldo he added: “He’s been fantastic for us and it will be a big game for both of them but we have players throughout who will affect the game and hopefully we’ll get a positive result.”

Robson-Kanu is a free agent after deciding to leave Reading this summer and he says his exploits in France have created interest amongst Premier League clubs.

On his goal, which came after a stunning Cruyff turn, he said: “I had my back to goal and they’re thinking I’m going to set the ball and I’ve Cruyffed and put it in the net.

“It was going to take something like that to break the Belgian team down and I’m obviously pleased that we came out victorious.”

He added: “I said before the Euros started that I’d make a decision on my club future after the Euros.

“I’m aware of the interest in me. The last few summers obviously Premier League clubs have come in for me but the bids were rejected.

“So I ran my contract down to be in a position to make a decision on where I go and obviously I’ll sit down after the Euros finishes and make a decision and it will be a big one for myself and my family.”
