A BRACE from wing Jason Harries saw Quins record their sixth straight Principality Premiership win by defeating Ebbw Vale at Carmarthen Park.

Quins were quickest out of the blocks and scored first on six minutes through Harries, which was converted by Dan Jones.

It was all one-way traffic early on and the hosts extended their advantage with Rhodri Clancy going over on 19 minutes which this time went unconverted, although Jones’ penalty three minutes later made it 15-0.

Ethan Davies and Dan Jones traded penalties before the visitors put themselves right back in contention on 35 minutes with centre Nathan Preece going over – converted by Davies.

Quins back row Aiden Laxton was yellow carded shortly afterwards and the visitors took full advantage by adding a second try on 39 minutes – this time from wing Wes Cunliffe – with Davies once again taking care of the extras to reduce the deficit to 18-17 at the interval.

Harries added his second on 42 minutes with Dan Jones adding his third penalty on 56 minutes.

And although Ronny Kynes went over for the Steelmen on 69 minutes with replacement Ian Smerdon converting, the hosts held on.
