CROSS Keys have a crunch battle with rivals for the Principality Premiership playoffs looming but head coach Greg Woods has warned against taking Llandovery lightly on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 2.30pm), writes Chris Kirwan.

Keys have won six of their last seven to leapfrog Carmarthen Quins, who they visit in a fortnight's time, into third in the table.

That encounter out west promises to be a cracker but first Woods' charges must deal with the dangerous Drovers at Pandy Park.

Keys are buoyant after a terrific 43-21 victory against Llanelli at Parc y Scarlets and will need to hit those heights again to maintain their momentum.

"We are on a hell of a run and have a really big three games coming up against Llandovery, Carmarthen and Bedwas in the Swalec Cup," said Woods.

"We are in a really good place as a squad and need to keep our concentration levels high because it would be easy for eyes to start looking at Carmarthen, but that will only be an eight-pointer if we win against Llandovery.

"We were dead and buried at Christmas and have worked hard to put ourselves in this position so we can't afford any slip-ups now and have to keep the pressure on the teams above."

Woods is not being lulled into a false sense of security by Llandovery sitting ninth in the table and heading east on the back of a 41-3 hammering at Pontypridd.

"They would have been looking at this game as the more achievable one and we are expecting a real challenge from them," said Woods.

"Llandovery are always tough and play good rugby so we have to be strong defensively. We've had some real ding-dongs with them over the years so will have to be at our best."
