TICKETS are going fast for Newport RFC and Friends of Newport Rugby’s fourth Hall of Fame dinner held at the end of this month.

There are just a few seats left for the popular event in the Black and Ambers’ social calendar which takes place this year on the evening of Friday, March 27.

The annual event held at Rodney Parade sees legends from the club’s rich and colourful history inducted into its Hall of Fame.

This time around, nine new members will join the illustrious list on a night which is hosted by Black and Ambers great Jason ‘Fozzie’ Forster, who played for them between 1999 and 2003 and Newport Gwent Dragons from 2003 to 2006.

The retired Wales international assumes the role of master of ceremonies and will be joined by Welsh Rugby Union chairman Gareth Davies, the former Dragons chief executive, who is the guest of honour.

Kevin Jarvis, secretary of Friends of Newport Rugby Trust and a member of Newport RFC’s committee, said: “This year nine legends, spread over more than 100 years of Black and Ambers history, will be added to a glorious list that already includes the likes of Arthur Gould, Tommy Vile, Ken Jones, David Watkins, David Waters, Shane Howarth and others.”

Last year's inductees were the Phillips family, Roy Burnett, Gareth Evans, Geoff Evans, Brian Jones, Roger Powell, Charles Pritchard, Alan ‘Algy’ Thomas, Dick Uzzell and Stuart Watkins.

There will be a three-course dinner, open bar speeches, presentations and an auction.

Starting at 6.30pm, tickets are now on sale at £30 each and are available from the ticket office (01633 670690).
