CROSS Keys have strengthened their squad for next season by signing two quality backs in Neath wing Jamie Davies and Bargoed outside half Josh Prosser.

Ex-Keys favourite Davies, 25, is a dangerous flyer who made 18 appearances for them in the 2010/11 season, touching down for seven tries during that campaign.

A former Wales Under-20s player, he has excelled in a Neath team struggling badly in the Principality Premiership this season.

The Pandy Park outfit’s director of rugby Jonathan Westwood said it was great news Davies had decided to rejoin Keys: “We are so pleased – there were a lot of Premiership teams after him and we are delighted he decided to sign for us.

“Jamie is probably the winger who has caused us most difficulty this season and with Josh also joining us, we have made two excellent signings.”

Prosser has been starring in a Bargoed side who are running away with the Swalec Championship this season.

“He has been consistently the best No 10 in the Championship, having been outstanding for Bargoed,” Keys head coach Greg Woods said.

“He will provide great competition for Ethan Davies at outside half.

“Josh is a prolific goal kicker and we are pleased he has chosen the same path as Steffan Jones (former Bargoed, Keys and Newport Gwent Dragons fly half) in joining us.”
