BEDWAS and Newport do it all over again at Bridge Field in the Principality Premiership this afternoon seven days after locking horns in the Foster's Challenge Cup (kick-off 2.30pm).

The hosts emerged triumphant 46-0 in the development competition but it promises to be much, much tighter if the league encounter beats the weather to get the green light.

Both teams have rung the changes with Bedwas, who are seeking revenge after losing 24-22 despite being the better side at Rodney Parade in September, bringing in seven fresh faces.

The entire front row is changed, with Dan Preece captaining the side from loosehead prop, and the game will be won and lost up front in heavy conditions.

Newport retain loosehead Matt Prosser after he was one of those that did perform well last week while lock Adam Brown bolsters the tight five after the captain started for the Dragons Premiership Select XV against Connacht Eagles last week.

The Black and Ambers are boosted by the return from injury of fly-half Matt O'Brien, who is named among the replacements after being out of action since the home league fixture with Bedwas.

The visitors have slipped to fifth in the table after being frustrated by a host of postponements since their December 5 hammering of Neath.

Cross Keys, just like Newport, have seen their push for the playoffs hit by the weather but will hope the good track at Parc y Scarlets will enable them to take on Llanelli.

The men from Pandy Park were top of the pile at Christmas but postponements have enabled Llandovery, Aberavon and Pontypridd to climb above them.

They have a 10-game unbeaten streak in the Premiership so will hope to pick up where they left off against a Llanelli team who they hammered in Gwent in 58-22 but who have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes of late.

Keys are boosted by the return from injury of Josh Prosser while Richard Cornock plays tighthead rather than his preferred loosehead in the absence of Wales Under-20s international Leon Brown.

Ebbw Vale can not only do themselves a big favour but their friends from Rodney Parade and Pandy Park when they entertain Llandovery.

The Steelmen will be right in the mix for the playoffs if they can beat the leaders at Eugene Cross Park but defeat will leave them with little margin for error.

Ebbw have won their last four to keep in touch with the pack at the top of the table and will look for their strong pack to lead the way against the Drovers.

They are also looking for revenge after enduring a 50-0 hammering when the sides met at Church Bank earlier in the campaign with the Steelmen badly missing talisman Damien Hudd on that occasion.

The captain will lead the charge in a vastly-experienced tight five also containing lock Ashley Sweet and a front row of Ross Jones, Mathew Williams and Gethin Robinson.
