BEDWAS chief Steve Law wants his men to make up for their worst performance of the season when they travel to Carmarthen Quins in tier one of the Principality Premiership tomorrow (kick-off 1pm).

The West Wales outfit, who lost 35-14 at Pontypridd last weekend, came away from Bedwas’ Bridge Field home in November with a 23-17 victory under their belts.

It was one of only two defeats Law’s men suffered on home soil during the first part of the Premiership campaign.

But now Bedwas have the chance to gain revenge for that loss, and they will have Newport Gwent Dragons trio Robson Blake, James Thomas and Jack Dixon to aid their cause.

The three men link up with a side that won their first fixture since the January split, a backs-against-the-wall victory at Ebbw Vale.

The boot of fly-half Richard Powell and Bedwas’ excellent defence was key to their 15-12 triumph over a team they also got the better of on Boxing Day.

Looking ahead to the battle with Quins, Law said: “We lost at home to them in November in what was our worst performance of the season.

“They scored two tries off scrums and that’s something we don’t want happening this time around.

“I think there will be 10 changes to the side that started that day so hopefully things will be different.”

Bedwas ended the regular season second in the table and Law admits the four-week break in league action after the split was a concern.

“The break wasn’t ideal but it hasn’t affected us,” he added.

“We did push the boys very hard in training and there was no slacking off before the Ebbw Vale game.”
