NEWPORT RFC’s Principality Premiership clash with Pontypridd has been moved to a Friday because of a Rodney Parade fixture clash.
The Black and Ambers had been pencilled in to host the men from Sardis Road on Saturday, September 9.
However, Newport County entertain Wycombe Wanderers in League Two that afternoon so the rugby has moved forward a day (kick-off 7.30pm).
It is the second Black and Ambers game to fall victim of the hectic schedule at Rodney Parade after they opened their season against Cardiff last Sunday to avoid a clash with the Exiles’ date with Chesterfield.
The move means that Ponty will head to Gwent for games under Friday night lights for two weeks running.
This weekend Ebbw Vale aim to back up their win against Bargoed by beating Justin Burnell’s side at Eugene Cross Park (kick-off 7.30pm).
The Steelmen have had to shift their fixture to avoid a clash with cricket – Ebbw seconds against Monkswood – on the adjoining pitch on Saturday.
