James considers Crusaders move

FORMER Wales and Lions winger Dafydd James is considering a move into rugby league with the Crusaders but would prefer to stay in union.

James, who won 48 caps for Wales and three for the Lions on the 2001 tour to Australia, was released by Cardiff at the end of last season.

The 34-year-old was loaned to Sale Sharks in January but struggled to make an impact at Edgeley Park.

"I'm as fit as ever, highly motivated and looking to continue playing top flight professional rugby for another one or two seasons,’’ said James.

"I'm looking at all possibilities, including a switch to league with the Crusaders, although my main ambition at the moment would be to stay in union.

"It was a frustrating and disappointing time last season - at Cardiff my opportunities were limited and when I moved to Sale we were in a relegation battle.

"But I've grown from last season and I am probably a better professional for it.’’

Not really interested in what Cardiff players are up to!
Why can't the Argus stick to Dragons and County sports news.

i disagree taffyduck! i think all welsh rugby news is interesting. and besides, why dont the dragons sign him!!? i saw him play in australia on the lions tour, and he's still a class player now! after losing richard fussell we could use another winger! and as for his age? no problem. how old is gavin thomas? and what a good job he did for us last season!
