PUPILS from the Shirenewton School of tae kwon- do recently attended their colour belt grading ceremony in Monmouth.
They showed their skills to Master Gianni Peros, seventh 7th Dan and Welsh coach, and Master Tony Farr, fifth 5th Dan, Monmouth, Coleford and Usk instructor.
Shirenewton School of tae kwon- do was launched in November 2012 by Ken and Melinda Penman, who have 20 years of tae kwon- do experience between them.
They also have popular tae kwon- do clubs over the border in Cinderford and Mitcheldean.
“We teach much more than self defence,” said Melinda Penman.
“Tae kwon- do can help with confidence issues, self control, in respecting others, focusing on school- work, and balance and coordination.”
TAGB tae kwon- do sessions are held at St Thomas a Becket Church Room, Shirenewton, every Monday evening from 6pm to 7pm.
