TORFAEN Tigers got back to winning wins as they easily overcame Leicester Storm in the second half to enjoy a 56-30 win in Cwmbran.

The Tigers headed into the clash on the back of a loss to the Llanelli-based Raiders and a draw with Valley Cougars but settled when Rhys Finney opened up the scoring with a try on nine minutes that was converted by Matt Cummins.

Storm came back with a quick unconverted try through Oli Saville before having a potential second disallowed for offside

In the 24th minute, Liam Silver got the Tigers second try which was unconverted before Jake Thomas scored under the sticks and Matt Cummins converted.

But Leicester went into the break with a morale boosting converted try from Milkha Basra that Lewis Chapman converted to make it 16-10 at the break

Torfaen came out firing in the second half with Corey Clarke and Mike Davies getting quick tries, the second converted by Cummins to make the score 26-10.

They soon added three more. Sam Baker went over next before two tries from Jack Watkins, the first converted by Cummins made the score 40-10.

Storm come back with a try through Roddy Jonas that Chapman converted but Tigers added two more. Matt Cummins ran from half way to go over in the corner before Micki Witts went over for a tenth try with Mike Davies converting.

But they took their foot off the gas and Leicester finished with two consolation tries through Mark White and Jon Hunt.

The Tigers now sit fifth in the Conference League South with a trip to bottom club Oxford Cavaliers on Saturday.
