ENISEI fired a warning to Newport Gwent Dragons ahead of next weekend’s clash in Russia by adding Worcester to their list of European Rugby Challenge Cup scalps.

The Siberian side have been forced to move their home games but took it in their stride to run out 19-12 victors in Moscow against the Warriors, who fielded a youthful side because of their desire to avoid getting drawn into an Aviva Premiership relegation scrap.

Enisei, who enjoyed home victories against Newcastle and Brive last season, won a tight encounter in tricky conditions on a boggy pitch.

They struck with an early try by centre Davit Kacharava and, after a response by Worcester full-back Josh Adams, led 10-7 at the break.

Fly-half Yury Kushnarev moved Enisei beyond a score entering the final quarter only for Warriors prop Derrick Appiah to make it a nervy finale until the spoils were secured by a drop goal by replacement fly-half Ramil Gaisan.

The Dragons made a perfect start to the group with a bonus-point victory against Brive at Rodney Parade and if they avoid coming a cropper in Krasnodar next Saturday then they will be in good shape to make the knockout stages for the third year on the spin.

The Warriors host Brive at Sixways next Saturday.
