IF THE results of recent Cross Keys-Neath clashes are anything to go by then the Gwent club should be big favourites to make the last eight of the WRU National Cup quarter-finals when the two meet tomorrow.

Keys welcome Neath to Pandy Park (kick-off 2.30pm) on the back of five consecutive wins against the Welsh All Blacks, including one on their way to the cup final in 2014.

The last time the sides met, in September 2016, Keys ran out 48-3 victors on home turf on another day Neath would rather forget.

However, the visitors have run into some form following the league split, with wins on their travels against Cardiff and Llanelli.

They sit top of tier two just a point above Keys who edged over the line in close matches with Bridgend and Llanelli.

Neath, along with Bridgend, Beddau and Narberth, received a bye into the second round of the cup.

On the other hand, Keys had no problems securing a last-16 berth thanks to an emphatic 49-3 thrashing of Glynneath.

Keys are once again bidding to keep up their excellent cup record of recent seasons, aiming to better last terms’ run to the semi-finals when they lost to Camrarthen Quins by the narrowest of margins.
