CALDICOT Town LFC are still looking for their first point of the season after three defensive mistakes in the first 15 minutes gifted Abergavenny a winning margin.

“The game was lost in the first quarter of an hour,” manager Luke Harris said later.

As the first team are without a game next Sunday, Harris and his coaches have more time on the training field to work on problems before they welcome Cardiff City to Jubilee Park on October 29.

Meanwhile, the club’s development squad enjoyed an 11-goal romp at AFC Porth with Mikaela Roberts notching a double hat-trick.

Assistant manager Gareth Crispin said all his players contributed to the rout with defender Nat Rostron among the scorers.

“We started strongly, took the lead early on and dominated the first half by scoring eight goals,” he said.

“The team performed well on a small pitch creating many chances.”

The other scorers were sisters Taran and Taylor Fitzgerald, Sarah Bailey and Chloe Leonard.
