BEDWAS will be out to claim a seventh successive win over Swansea at St Helen’s tonight (kick-off 7.30pm) and keep up their impressive form of recent weeks.

Matches against the All Whites over the past few years have gone in favour of the Bridge Field outfit, with Swansea’s last win in the fixture coming in September 2011.

Since then it has all been about Bedwas’ dominance and their six straight victories with an aggregate score of 217-79 means the omens are good for this evening.

Bedwas are handily placed in eighth in the Principality Premiership table with 20 points from five outings, seven more than their hosts.

And while Ian Gardner’s men go into the encounter hunting a fifth win on the trot in all competitions, Swansea return to home soil following a 53-25 drubbing by Cardiff at the Arms Park.

It’s the start of a big week for Bedwas tonight with a home National Cup quarter-final against Newport on Tuesday around the corner.

Bargoed are in a similar position to Bedwas as they also feature in a rearranged last-eight tie next week. They host Ebbw Vale at Bargoed Park 24 hours after the Bedwas-Newport showdown.

This weekend there is a tough game in prospect for Bargoed in the shape of RGC 1404.

The second-placed North Walians venture south tomorrow (kick-off 1.30pm) in the hope of forcing their way to the league summit.

Elsewhere, struggling Neath host Pontypridd tonight, while tomorrow sees Cardiff and Llanelli go to Carmarthen Quins and Merthyr respectively.
