NEWPORT County AFC striker Joe Parker has returned to his previous club Gloucester City on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old teams up once again with Gloucester manager Tim Harris, formerly director of football at Rodney Parade.

Parker will be in the Tigers squad for tomorrow's trip to Boston United in the Conference North.

A statement from Gloucester reads: "Gloucester City are delighted to announce that we have signed Newport County striker Joe Parker on a month’s loan deal.

"The young forward, who is a product of the Gloucester City youth development system, had an encouraging pre-season for the Welsh side, but has found his first team chances limited since.

"Parker moved to the League Two outfit in January last year, but was immediately loaned back to the Tigers for the rest of the 2013/14 season.

"Memorably Parker scored a 19 minute hat-trick in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round replay against Yate Town, seeing him pick up the coveted Player of the Round award."

Back at the club, Harris believes Parker will add the clinical finishing at the Tigers have missed so far this season.

“It’s great to welcome Joe back and to give him the opportunity of regular first team football,” Harris said.

“He has had a good pre-season under his belt and benefitted from full time training for Newport County.

“I am confident that Joe will add a goal threat and take some of the many chances we have created.”

Exiles boss Justin Edinburgh revealed earlier today that two or three players would move out on loan in the next 24 hours and more news is expected soon.

"There has been a bit of interest again this week and it looks like one or two players will go out on loan within the next 24 hours to get some game-time and experience," said Edinburgh.

"One or two, maybe three, could go out in the next day or two.

"They’ll be going out on loan for different reasons and all for good reasons. Nobody is being pushed out – it is very amicable and it’s about progression for those guys."
