IT'S been a good week after Tuesday’s win over Luton and we’re aiming to make it a great one with another three points at Plymouth this afternoon.

It’s another vital game against one of our rivals for a play-off place in League Two and one we’re desperate to win.

But all our final nine games are big ones now as we approach the run-in and every one is going to be tough because every team is fighting for something.

The teams at the bottom are scrapping for points as if their lives depend on it and every team down to mid-table will think they have a chance of making the top seven.

After hanging on to beat Luton at Rodney Parade we’re on 57 points and I reckon we probably need another five wins, which would take us to 72 points, to make the play-offs.

Five wins from our last nine games is doable but it certainly won’t be easy and it would give us a real boost if we can win at Home Park this afternoon and move back into the top seven.

We need to replicate the way we played at Wycombe and Burton last month when we shocked a few people with two superb wins on the road against teams in the top three.

We’ve also gone to Shrewsbury and drawn and won at Bury as well so there is nothing for us to fear at Plymouth.

But we will have full respect for them because their home record is very good, even if they’ve struggled a bit of late and lost at Dagenham in midweek.

We all know that the home win was way overdue but I think the doom and gloom around the club in the last few weeks has been a bit over the top.

We would all have taken eighth in the table at this stage and sometimes you have to take a step back and put things in perspective.

It’s not been great recently but I see the Wimbledon manager has just been awarded a new two-year contract for getting his side in the top half of the table.

And they’ve been in the Football League for four years now while we’re only in our second year back.

Having said that the players have always believed we’re good enough to make the play-offs and we’re definitely not going to throw in the towel.

This is the time of the season when a lot of teams, players, managers and fans get twitchy bums but hopefully we’ve had our blip and we can get ourselves right back in the mix today.

I hope to be involved either from the start or from the bench as I was on Tuesday and I’m pleased to be getting some game time.

I’d like to be more involved but it’s been good to feel a part of it again because I love playing for this club and I want to help get us up that table.

I was also pleased to hear the reception that Chris Zebroski got from the fans when he came on in midweek.

We all know what Chris is going through at the moment and it’s obvious that he needs help.

He’s never hidden his problems from us and he’s very open and honest around the club.

He’s good as gold when he’s with us and I think it’s the best place for him as he tries to beat his problems.

The fact that it’s all come out is probably a weight off his mind after what must have been a nervy few weeks for him.

We’ll all help him get through it and hopefully he can repay us by scoring the goals to get us into the play-offs.
