NEWPORT County AFC manager Jimmy Dack was delighted with a point at Plymouth Argyle and urged his players to ignore those who have written off their play-off chances.

The 0-0 draw, following Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Luton Town, lifts County up to seventh in the table as a result of Stevenage losing at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

County are next in action at Accrington Stanley on Friday night and Dack says his players will give their all until the end of the campaign as they fight to stay in the top seven.

“Any point away from home is a hard earned point and we’re delighted,” said the Exiles boss.

“It’s two clean sheets on the trot as well, which is brilliant.

“They are a very good team but we had a go and everyone can see the commitment of the players. They gave their all and that’s all we can ask.

“It was part of our plan to come here and frustrate them, not give too much away and as the game opens up we might get one or two chances.

“Everyone keeps writing us off and they can keep doing it,” he added.

“Keep writing us off and we’ll keep working hard until the end and give it our best shot.”
