FORMER Newport County AFC defender Regan Poole could make his senior debut for Manchester United this month after being included in the club's Europa League squad.

The 17-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford from Rodney Parade on September 1 last year, had been prevented from playing in any United fixtures due to a delay regarding his international clearance.

But he final made his Under-21s debut at Everton on Monday night.

And Poole, County’s youngest ever senior player, look set to gain some experience with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata after being handed the number 41 squad number.

United play Danish side Midtjylland in the round-of-32 this month and Poole is included in the 24-man squad. Uefa's Europa League rule book states clubs 'may have no more than 25 players on List A... eight places are reserved exclusively for 'locally trained players'.

Cardiff-born Poole does not count as 'club-trained' or 'association-trained' player having progressed through the Exiles academy to the first team having been released by Cardiff City.

Full United Europa League squad: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Shaw, Varela, Darmian, POOLE, Mata, Carrick, Blind, Young, Herrera, Valencia, Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Lingard, Rooney, Martial, Memphis, Keane
