NEWPORT County AFC full-backs Danny Holmes and Scott Barrow are both doubtful for Saturday’s trip to Stevenage.

Both picked up hamstring problems in last week’s 1-0 home defeat to Cambridge United.

County manager Warren Feeney revealed that fellow defenders Darren Jones and Matt Partridge are available this weekend.

Jones has had to sit out some training sessions because of sickness and Partridge missed last week’s match due to a family bereavement.

“Matty is a fantastic player and he’s done well when he’s come in but he’s been out for a while,” said the Exiles boss.

“His last start was at York, which was 11 or 12 weeks ago.

“People think you can just go in and play but you can’t. We’ve had no reserve games because of the amount of games we had in March.

“We’ve got to make sure he’s right and I know the clock is ticking but he’ll definitely be involved on Saturday.

“He wants to play but I’ve got to make sure that he’s 100 per cent right.

“I expect Jonesy to be fine,” he added. “I had to tell him to lie in his bed because he still wanted to come in and train.”
