FORMER Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates is once again the bookies favourite to take over as Newport County AFC boss.
The 46-year-old was spotted at Rodney Parade on Tuesday night as County were beaten by Swansea City under-23s in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Fellow contender Graham Westley was also pictured at the match talking to chairman of the owners board Malcolm Temple.
Westley was odds-on favourite to replace Warren Feeney yesterday but a late surge of money placed on Yates means he is now the 4-6 favourite, while Westley is rated as 11-10 to land the job.
Sky Bet, the title sponsors of the EFL, have former England under-21 manager Peter Taylor as 12-1 third favourite.
Colin Pascoe and Chris Todd, also reportedly at the Exiles match on Tuesday, are 25-1 and 28-1 shots respectively.
The board of directors have conducted interviews over the past two days and hope to make an appointment today.
