NEWPORT County AFC manager Graham Westley was involved in a row with Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams after today's 0-0 draw in the FA Cup before having an angry exchange with a local journalist.

Westley walked in on Adams' press conference and was asked to leave by the home side's press officer.

When he did not immediately leave Adams took exception and stormed out, slamming a door behind him.

Westley also left but returned soon afterwards to face questions.

He explained: "The press officer asked me to leave. So I left. That was it.

"I was asked to come and have a chat with the press. I was asked to come and speak to the press so I walked into the press room, the other manager was speaking.

"He is welcome to come and listen to me, I have got nothing to say that I am scared of him hearing. I stood on the side of the room politely.

"The press officer asked me to leave, I was a bit confused and bemused by it but I then left the room, he stormed out, his choice."

After being asked about the incident again by the same journalist - Plymouth Herald football editor Chris Errington - Westley snapped.

"Shut up and listen to me," he said. "Let's move on pal, you're boring me now. Move on, you're being a clown."
