NEWPORT County AFC are planning for life at Rodney Parade in the 2017-2018 campaign – whatever division they are playing in – with season tickets on sale from Friday.

The proposed takeover of Newport Gwent Dragons by the Welsh Rugby Union, which includes the purchase of Rodney Parade, has led to doubts over County’s future at the ground.

The WRU has stated its preference to install a 4G pitch but artificial surfaces are not permitted by the English Football League.

The Exiles have a lease to stay at the ground until 2023 and the takeover deal is dependent on the backing of 75 per cent of shareholders of the stadium's owners Newport RFC.

But County director Neil Collier admitted earlier this month that the board were “considering options for the future” in case a new home was required.

The announcement of season ticket deals for the next campaign suggests, however, that the club’s immediate future remains at Rodney Parade.

The club is offering fans the chance to make massive savings with special ‘early bird prices’ and a limited special offer of 250 Hazell Terrace season tickets for just £195 to both adults and seniors, which equates to just £8.48 per match.

These savings will only be available on the first 250 Hazell Terrace tickets purchased or until 5pm on May 8, whichever comes first.

County are also offering early bird season ticket prices until 5pm on June 1, with adult season tickets starting at just £250.

Children under six will continue to gain free entry to matches, while under-12 season tickets cost just £25, under-16 tickets are £50 and young adults (aged 16 to 21) will pay between £100 and £150.

In a bid to develop the next generation of supporters, the club will be offering free season tickets to all academy registered players.

And, for the first time, seniors will be able to pay the same price to sit and stand throughout the stadium as the club “recognises the needs and loyalty of its older generation of supporters”.

Early bird senior season tickets cost £250, rising to £289 after 5pm on June 1.

South Wales Argus:

The club has also introduced a revised 100 Club ticket package that can be purchased as a season ticket or on a match by match basis.

In addition to access to a hospitality lounge and Bisley Stand seating, ticket holders will also receive a match day programme, team sheet and free hot drink at half-time.

All season ticket holders will also enjoy priority access to all away and cup tickets and a 10 per cent discount in the club shop amongst other benefits.

Around 750 season tickets were sold for this season and the club hopes to sell 1,000 for the next campaign.

All prices quoted are for seats in the Bisley Stand or Hazell Stand or standing areas on the Hazell Terrace.

Due to contractual agreements and staging costs, the North Terrace will not be open to Exiles supporters during the 2017-2018 season unless required for high capacity matches.
