NEWPORT County AFC captain Joss Labadie and fellow midfielder Matty Dolan are both injury doubts for tomorrow’s League Two clash with Morecambe.

Both players missed Friday’s 2-1 win over Crawley Town, which briefly lifted County to fifth in League Two before Saturday’s results saw them drop to ninth.

Manager Michael Flynn is unsure whether Dolan and Labadie will be fit to return tomorrow but he should have new loan signing Emmanuel Osadebe available and he insists he won’t rest striker Frank Nouble.

Flynn said: “Joss and Matty went off during training on Thursday with stiff hamstrings.

“It’s a difficult one because you don’t want to risk losing them long-term but you want your best players on the pitch.

“I’ll never put the players’ health at risk but it’s a tough one and we’ll have to see how they are on Monday morning.

“They are a big miss but I thought that the two boys who came in [Ben Tozer and Josh Sheehan] did a very good job.

“We’ve got a good squad now,” he added. “Joss and Matty will want to play in the Spurs [FA Cup] game but let’s see how the other boys do because they’ve got the shirts at the moment.”

Osadebe arrived on loan from Cambridge United on Thursday but was not signed in time to play against Crawley.

“He wasn’t available, otherwise he would have been involved,” said the Exiles boss.

“I hope he’s available on Tuesday. He should be.

“He will bring energy and versatility – he can play in a few positions.

“He’s got height on his side and he’s not a bad footballer.

“I’m surprised he wasn’t playing down at Cambridge but that’s not for me to judge.

“I’m looking forward to working with him.

“He’s got a good pedigree in the league above [with Gillingham] but he knows he’s got a fight to get into the team.”

Nouble is on nine yellow cards and is one booking away from a two-game ban but Flynn will not rest the striker for the Tottenham tie.

“It’s part and parcel of football,” said Flynn.

“It’s a team sport and let’s just hope he doesn’t get booked.

“He’ll play unless he’s injured. Tuesday is more important at the moment.”
