ALUN Wyn Jones says that they Ospreys will have to up their game if they are to send a savvy Newport Gwent Dragons side packing on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4pm), writes Chris Kirwan.

From the outside it would appear to be a mismatch with the hosts at the Liberty Stadium attempting to end round 13 on top of the Guinness Pro12 by beating a side languishing near the Italian sides at the bottom of the table.

But Wales and Lions lock Alun Wyn Jones, who did not play in the Ospreys' only home league loss to the Dragons in 2010, is not taking their regional rivals lightly.

"They will pose a challenge," he said. "If you look at the way their games went over Christmas, they won away at the Blues and almost snuck it from a five-metre scrum in the return. Their tails are going to be up.

"At times they probably played some of the most thought-out, attacking rugby of all the regions over Christmas.

"You look at what they've been trying to achieve with their signings and their youth and experience, and you see that it came to the fore."

Both sides head into the clash on the back of derby disappointment; the Dragons lost 11-9 to Cardiff Blues at Rodney Parade while the Ospreys suffered a loss at Parc y Scarlets that was a lot more comprehensive than the 22-10 scoreline suggests.

"We'd like to think we could fix the problems quickly," said Jones.

"In all honesty we probably have a few issues at scrum-time and refs are probably looking at that. We are not going to shy away from that.

"From a line-out perspective, the Scarlets came up with a stereotypical display of a team that was wounded up front. It's a fix we feel we can enforce.

"Other than that we were just harried and held back in the game. All credit to the Scarlets. There are elements we couldn't influence, but there was also a lot in that game that we feel we can put right."
