JASON Tovey’s reward for leading the second half-comeback against London Welsh last weekend is a recall to the starting line-up for Sunday’s Guinness Pro12 trip to Leinster.

Fly-half Tovey pulled the strings against the Exiles after being called from the bench and was a key figure in helping turn a 13-3 deficit at the break into a 17-13 LV= Cup win.

However, the 25-year-old will start at full-back against the champions with Dorian Jones handed the number 10 jersey.

Hallam Amos starts on the wing after being released from Wales’ Six Nations squad while Bath-bound scrum-half Jonathan Evans is recalled after sitting out the LV= Cup encounters with Exeter and London Welsh. In-form flankers James Thomas and Nic Cudd also return.

Leinster have 12 players in the Ireland squad for their game against France but are still able to boast the likes of Fergus McFadden, Dave Kearney, Jimmy Gopperth, Michael Bent, Kane Douglas and Dominic Ryan while seasoned flanker Shane Jennings skippers the side.

The Dragons have never beaten Leinster in Dublin but backs coach Shaun Connor says the squad are excited by the chance to shatter that record.

“We will give them the respect they deserve but we are going there with a bit of confidence and hopefully we can come back with the result,” he said.

“We can use our record as a positive and every professional sportsman should be up for a challenge, if not then they are in the wrong game.

“Leinster replace their internationals with internationals but we will give it a good crack and are up for the fight.”
