UNCAPPED centre Connor Edwards and wing Joe Goodchild are among seven Newport Gwent Dragons players selected in the Wales squad for the World Rugby U20 Championship.

The duo joined in the 28-strong group for Georgia by hookers Owen Hughes and Ellis Shipp, winger Jared Rosser, full-back Will Talbot-Davies and fly-half Arwel Robson, who all featured in the Six Nations.

Shipp made his senior Dragons debut against Cardiff Blues in the Guinness PRO12 finale last week, Robson played in two Anglo-Welsh Cup games last November and Talbot-Davies featured against Leicester last autumn and Glasgow in March.

Rosser, 19, is yet to make his regional bow but has impressed for Wales in the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Ospreys flanker Will Jones will captain the side for the tournament, which pits them against Australia, England and Samoa in an extremely tough group.

Wales have suffered a blow with the loss of key centre Keiran Williams, top try scorer in the Six Nations, through injury but only five of the squad did not feature against their European counterparts at the start of the year.

"It's fair to say the time for experimentation is over," said head coach Jason Strange. "We've got a balanced squad with huge amounts of potential - some of which we've already seen.

"The new players coming in are there because they've shown they can integrate well with the way we want the team to play. We're hoping they can add to what we've already achieved so far as a group."

Wales will face their Scottish counterparts in Bridgend on Tuesday in a warm-up.
