BLAENAVON booked their semi-final place in the Ben Francis Cup in style last week.
Competing in the fog at Brynmawr last Wednesday night, they emerged with an emphatic 31 points to five away win, writes Mike Doolan.
After riding out an early Brynmawr storm Blaenavon never looked pressurised and gave a textbook display of scrimmaging, line out's and rolling mauls to outscore the home side by four tries to one.
It saw them book their semi-final place comfortably.
The big game is to be played at a neutral ground in early May. The semi-finalists of the Ben Francis Cup will be the three clubs already through, Risca, Pill Harriers, and now Blaenavon.
Oakdale are due to play Abergavenny at 7.15pm tomorrow (Thursday Match 19), for the fourth place.
