TORFAEN Tigers know that only a win against rivals Coventry Bears Reserves at Cwmbran RFC this afternoon (kick-off 2.30pm) will give them any chance of qualifying for the Conference League South play-offs.

The Tigers are five points behind the pack with three games to go and this will be their only chance to gain any advantage on Coventry and The Raiders.

With Valley Cougars and Nottingham Outlaws already secure in the top four, The Raiders and Coventry are hot favourites for the other two spots.

Tigers coach Jamie Williams said: “We’re looking forward to what promises to be a tough encounter.

“There was nothing between us in Coventry until a debatable decision influenced the game. We've improved as a side since then but I'm sure Coventry will have too, but we are at home.

“After a setback in Oxford we have to win to have any hope of finishing in the top four.”

A win for The Raiders at Gloucestershire Warriors will give them a play-off place in their first season in this league.

On the back of five back to back wins, The Raiders will be going into this game as favourites against the struggling All Golds’ feeder sid.

The last time these teams met was at Parc Stebonheath where Raiders won 84-20 but they know that this League can be unpredictable and teams are always stronger at home.
